The Reluctant Yogi

"I'm not sure yoga is for me", "I don't feel comfortable going to a yoga studio", "I'm not flexible", "Yoga is for skinny, young people" - if you've ever thought these things, you have come to the right place! I make yoga accessible to people of ALL fitness backgrounds, skill levels, and body types. You do not need to fit into yoga, yoga needs to fit into you. If you are seeking to optimize your well-being, maintain your health, or are interested in improving your health then yoga IS for you. Together, you and I will come up with a plan to get you there one step at a time - meeting you where you are at TODAY.

Something About Me

I am Diana Pins and at first I didn't think I fit the bill for being a yoga teacher either, I didn't look like those models on the cover of  yoga magazines or in social media twisting like a pretzel. What I did find was that yoga made me feel better and I wanted to share that feeling with others. I started by getting my certification in Primordial Sound Meditation from the Chopra Center and that changed my life. Formerly from the world of computers, meditation made me feel grounded, calm, and less reactive. Then I decided to get my yoga certification in the Seven Spiritual Laws of Yoga, and then a Perfect Health-Ayurveda certification also from the Chopra Center. The more I learned how these practices were contributing to my self-awareness and overall wellbeing, the more I wanted to become a teacher. Since then, I have added Trauma-Conscious Yoga Training from Connected Warriors and Prime of Life Yoga with Samata International at Loyola Marymount University. I am also a member of Yoga Alliance and The International Association of Yoga Therapists.
My method of teaching is to make my classes fun and meaningful, I use my full palette of knowledge and skills to creatively present these ancient healing practices that is easy to understand in a step-wise progression. I customize my classes to suit the needs, abilities, and interests of each individual with my goal to enable as many people as possible to take advantage of yoga's health benefits - it's NOT just for people who fit the usual "yoga body" model.

I was very fortunate to attend a group yoga session led by Diana, not only was it extremely enjoyable, Diana's knowledge of the '7 Spiritual Laws Of Yoga', added a unique and appreciated education on the importance of incorporating yoga into my daily schedule. --Phil B.
